Southeast Aerospace, a leader in STC certifications, announced today they have obtained an STC and China validation (VSTC) for the Cobham A300D Satcom system in a Boeing 737NG. This will provide a multitude of connectivity options for crews flying over open waters where typical terrestrial connection is lost. The STC covers the 600/700/800 and 900 series.
Operators in China were required to meet the NextGen CAAC mandate for Satellite Communications Implementation Plan for Airline Operations Control. "The Cobham A300 was the most compact and lightweight SwiftBroadband solution," said Rob Reed, Director of Aircraft Modification Programs. "The ability to stay connected constantly is critical for business and commercial aviation," stated Reed. The Cobham A300D is also connected to an existing ACARS, which is a digital datalink system for transmission of short messages between aircraft and ground stations, to provide non-safety services.
Gong Deshen, dedicated Sales representative based in Beijing, stated, "China Transcom and Shenzhen Airlines selected Southeast Aerospace based on the in-house capabilities and our ability to successfully obtain dual certification". Easing the installation process, Southeast Aerospace PMA'd installation kits to reduce time and cost. For more information you can contact Rob Reed at 321-255-9877 ext 228.
