Under this agreement, SEA will sell and install the RoadRunner EFI to operators, as well as serve as an authorized Support Center. In addition, Southeast Aerospace may help secure any STCs needed to enable installations in aircraft.
"SEA is familiar with the RoadRunner EFI and is already promoting it to customers," said Astronautics Vice President of Business Development and Product Strategy Dan Ryan. "We look forward to working with SEA as an official Astronautics dealer to modernize legacy ADI and HSI primary flight instruments with this new EFI."
The EFI is a form-fit-function upgrade that has been designed to replace current attitude direction indicator and horizontal situation indicator primary flight instruments. The new EFI enhances safety, reduces operating costs, and lowers installation downtime.
"In a market that is very price-sensitive, the AFI-4700 RoadRunner EFI offers a balanced compromise between price and functionality while increasing reliability that has not been available from other larger glass cockpit solutions. This new solid state primary flight instrument replacement is a great solution for operators that are mission critical and cannot afford down-time perhaps caused by traditional electromechnical gyro overhaul and maintenance," says SEA Director of Aircraft Modifications Programs Rob Reed.
