FEATURES
  • Solid-State FLight Data Recorders that meet (or exceed) all requirements of FAA TSO-C124 and EUROCAE ED-55
  • All designs comply with ARINC Specifications 542 and 542A, will accept 6 to 20 analog parameters, replace old metal foil recorders currently in use, and provide for recording of additional input signals over ARINC 542 requirments to meet the future requirements of ARINC 542A
  • The recorder is housed in international orange, a standard 1/2 ATR long case conforming to the description of specific recorders according to ARINC specification No. 404
  • The basic ARINC 542 parameters are as follows: altitude, airspeed, heading, vertical acceleration, time, and time of radio transmission to or from ATC (Mic Bit)
  • The added ARINC 542A parameters are as follows: pitch atitude, roll atitude, longitudinal acceleration, control column or pitch control surface position, and each engine thrust
  • Additional parameter capabilities of this model include: total air temperature, lateral acceleration, falut light, trip & date encoder, binary 2 and binary A
  • Recording time is a minimum of 25 Hours
  • -01 version has titanium Flight Crash Survivable Storage Unit (FCSSU)

In relation to NE (New) parts, many OEMs change their prices and availability without any notice to dealers or the industry. Therefore, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication, we ask that customers contact us for the most accurate price and availability.

In relation to SV & OH parts, the used parts aftermarket in the aviation industry is not an infinite supply. It is a dynamic, constantly changing market that is significantly affected by and susceptible to highs and lows in supply and demand. Therefore, although we attempt to, at times, we are unable to predict the exact moment when an item may be available. Once again, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication on our website, we ask that customers contact us for the most current and accurate price and availability.

We recommend the Ametek P/N 3001-01-101-2 biaxial accelerometer or P/N 3001-01-111-2 triaxial accelerometer.
While not an exact list for every aircraft application, generally a G-switch, pitot & static fittings, biaxial or triaxial accelerometer, and installation kits are required for a complete FDR system.
Solid State refers to the storage of data in semiconductor memories or integrated circuits. Older technology usually referred to as "tape" technology utilized electromechanical methods of data storage.
Solid State memory does not require scheduled maintenance or overhaul. Therefore, there are potential cost savings to operators and owners. Also data is easier to retrieve and is readily available to for monitoring the performance of the aircraft.
The omnidirectional impact switch model 3RO-434 is recommended. This switch can sense g forces in any direction.
The Underwater Locator Beacon (ULB) is usually the only part that requires any type of periodic maintenance for most Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Flight Data Recorders (FDR). This maintenance includes cleaning and testing the ULB every 2 years and replacing the battery every 6 years. It should be noted that some aircraft maintenance programs may include testing and/or bench testing of CVRs or FDRs as part of the aircraft maintenance program.
