In relation to NE (New) parts, many OEMs change their prices and availability without any notice to dealers or the industry. Therefore, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication, we ask that customers contact us for the most accurate price and availability.

In relation to SV & OH parts, the used parts aftermarket in the aviation industry is not an infinite supply. It is a dynamic, constantly changing market that is significantly affected by and susceptible to highs and lows in supply and demand. Therefore, although we attempt to, at times, we are unable to predict the exact moment when an item may be available. Once again, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication on our website, we ask that customers contact us for the most current and accurate price and availability.

The Collins DME-42 is a 3 channel DME receiving. For the -001 version, Channel 1 is capable of 2-out-of 5 tuning (2x5) while Channels 2,3 are capable of CSDB tuning. For the -003 version, all 3 channels are capable of either 2x5 or CSDB tuning.

Negotiating the exchange price of a unit only limits the allowable repair cap for the core unit. Southeast Aerospace's exchange transactions are based on the return of economically repairable core unit. Once the core is received and evaluated, the core repair cost incurred by SEA cannot exceed 75% of the original exchange price. That is, it cannot cost SEA more than 75% of the original OH/SV exchange price collected from the customer. Therefore, when and if an SEA exchange price is discounted, there is a risk that additional charges may be assessed once the core is returned and evaluated.

While Collins Service Bulletin DME-42-34-07 addresses this optional modification, it is not feasible to perform the conversion on a -001 unit. The easiest way to perform this conversion is to change the I/O Video Circuit Card P/N 647-6678-001/002 to the -004 version. However, the 647-6678-004 is no longer available from Collins. The other way to perform this modification is to convert the -001/002 boards to be functionally equivalent to the -004 status. Unfortunately, this modification consists of replacing almost 10 parts on the -001/002 board and adding up to 22 jumper wires which then creates a very unappealing situation in the unit. Two circuit cards are made as well.

If you require DME-42 P/N 622-6263-003, Southeast Aerospace recommends simply exchanging your -001 for a -003 unit. Please contact our Part Sales dept for pricing.
Yes, if the DME option for the G1000 is selected, then the DME channel 1 audio output level must be adjusted to 4.46 Vpp + 0.10 Vpp. The adjustment procedure is indicated in the DME-42 repair manual maintenance section and should be carried out by an authorized Collins service center such as Southeast Aerospace.
