In relation to NE (New) parts, many OEMs change their prices and availability without any notice to dealers or the industry. Therefore, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication, we ask that customers contact us for the most accurate price and availability.

In relation to SV & OH parts, the used parts aftermarket in the aviation industry is not an infinite supply. It is a dynamic, constantly changing market that is significantly affected by and susceptible to highs and lows in supply and demand. Therefore, although we attempt to, at times, we are unable to predict the exact moment when an item may be available. Once again, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication on our website, we ask that customers contact us for the most current and accurate price and availability.

The main difference between the ART-2000 and the ART-2100 is that the ART-2100 has 50% more transmit power than the ART-2000. The range on the ART-2000 is 240 nautical miles while the ART-2100 has a range of 320 nautical miles. The ART-2100 also has a 120 degree scan instead of the 90 degree scan as with the ART-2000. The ART-2100 also has additional features such as autorange which alerts the pilot when radar energy cannot penetrate and autotilt which manages the tilt angle as the aircraft climbs or descends.
Radar stabilization uses an aircraft's vertical gyro (if equipped) to maintain the selected radar antenna beam relative to the horizon. Therefore, while in a turn, the radar will maintain the selected tilt angle instead of changing in relation to turn.
Many avionics systems require a configuration or setup process. This process is required to interface certain avionics systems to other systems in the aircraft that will be inputting or outputting information to and from these systems. Some examples of systems that require a configuration or setup process include:

Autopilot
EFIS
GPS
EGPWS
EHSI
RADAR
TAWS
TCAS

In addition, most newer technology or solid state systems require configuration via computer interface of some type. A qualified avionics technician should always refer to the appropriate manufacturer's installation manual for complete information and instructions.
The AutoTilt feature on the ART-2100 will track the aircraft altitude and adjust the antenna tilt as the aircraft's altitude changes. Therefore, an altitude source must be input into the ART-2100 to operate this feature.

The ART-2000/2100 has a dipswitch with eight settings used for installation functions. The dipswitch must have the correct configuration for the radar to perform properly. Please see the images below to locate the dipswitch on your unit.

Depending on the position of Switch #1, the transmitting function may be disabled. If transmitting is disabled, "Tx Flt" may be displayed. You must verify that Switch #1 is in the "ON" position. The setting is on when the switch is positioned towards the center of the unit.

The ART-2000/2100 has a dipswitch with eight settings used for installation functions. The dipswitch must have the correct configuration for the radar to perform properly. Please see the images below to locate the dipswitch on your unit.

Depending on the position of Switch #2, the scanning function may be disabled. You must verify that Switch #2 is in the "ON" position. The setting is on when the switch is positioned towards the center of the unit.

The ART-2000/2100 has a dipswitch with eight settings used for installation functions. The dipswitch must have the correct configuration for the radar to recognize the size of the installed antenna. Please see the images below to locate the dipswitch on your unit.

If a 10" antenna is being installed, the #4 Switch & #5 Switch must both be in the "ON" position. If a 12" antenna is being installed, the #4 Switch must be in the "OFF" position & the #5 Switch must be in the "ON" position. The setting is on when the switch is positioned towards the center of the unit.

Negotiating the exchange price of a unit only limits the allowable repair cap for the core unit. Southeast Aerospace's exchange transactions are based on the return of economically repairable core unit. Once the core is received and evaluated, the core repair cost incurred by SEA cannot exceed 75% of the original exchange price. That is, it cannot cost SEA more than 75% of the original OH/SV exchange price collected from the customer. Therefore, when and if an SEA exchange price is discounted, there is a risk that additional charges may be assessed once the core is returned and evaluated.

No, radome kits and installation directions must be ordered directly from radome manufacturers or supplied by the aircraft manufacturer.
The ART-2100 will replace the RS-861A with the incorporation of an adapter harness prescribed in Honeywell Installation Bulletin No. 445. The original IN-862A indicator (-00,01,30,31) are functional indicators that can be used with the ART-2100 sensor. The CM-2000 configuration module would need to be added in the radar system as well.

Southeast Aerospace provides complete retrofit packages for the Bendix RS series radar sensors to Honeywell ART sensors. Packages include equipment, adapter harness, programmed configuration module, and other instructions. Please contact Sales Dept for an exact quote.

The Bendix/King RDR 2100 Installation Manual (006-00648-0002), on page 1-1 states: "The RDR 2100 System consists of four modules: the Antenna/Receiver/ Transmitter (ART), the Radar Indicator, the System Antenna, and the Configuration Module. The system is positioned as a replacement for the RDS 86 ART."

In addition, there is a "RS-861A to ART-2100 Harness Connector Replacement" diagram in the RDR 2100 Installation Manual on page 2-107, Figure 2-50.

According to Service Aid ART 2100-103 and ART-2100 maintenance manual, the unit must be altitude tested to 55000 feet after the magnetron is replaced. In addition, the AFC and STC curves need to be recalibrated over the temperature ranges of 25, -55, -30, -5, 45 and 70 degrees C.

Therefore, calibrated altitude and environmental chambers are needed for altitude and temperature testing mentioned above. Southeast Aerospace's Service Department is one of a very few authorized Honeywell service centers that possess and utilize the necessary chamber and facilities for this testing. Please contact our Service Dept for more details.
