In relation to NE (New) parts, many OEMs change their prices and availability without any notice to dealers or the industry. Therefore, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication, we ask that customers contact us for the most accurate price and availability.

In relation to SV & OH parts, the used parts aftermarket in the aviation industry is not an infinite supply. It is a dynamic, constantly changing market that is significantly affected by and susceptible to highs and lows in supply and demand. Therefore, although we attempt to, at times, we are unable to predict the exact moment when an item may be available. Once again, through the REQUEST or RFQ indication on our website, we ask that customers contact us for the most current and accurate price and availability.

Southeast Aerospace recommends either the RA Miller AT-1108/ARC or Sensor Systems S65-8282-34 antenna for aircraft with both VHF and UHF band radios.

If you are adding a UHF radio such as the Bendix/King KTR-909 to an aircraft already fitted with a VHF radio and wish to keep that VHF radio installed, then the RAMI AT-1108/ARC is recommended to replace the existing VHF antenna. The AT-1108/ARC includes separate coax connections for the VHF and UHF antenna lines.

If you are adding radio that covers both the VHF and UHF bands such as the Cobham (Wulfsberg) RT-5000 Flexcomm, then the Sensor Systems S65-8282-34 is recommended due to its single coax connector design.

While most TCAS I and TCAS II antennas are manufactured by Sensor Systems for other manufacturers, they all possess different part numbers and models numbers. Some even will indicate a Sensor Systems part number. However, that number indicates proprietary part number and status that Sensor Systems will have with the manufacturers such as Honeywell and L3. You cannot purchase the TCAS antenna with the Sensor Systems part number direct from Sensor Systems.

Regarding interchangeability, there are very similar characteristics between the various TCAS antennas. However, it is not so much the functionality characteristics that determine the interchangeability as it is the certification. That is, since an L3 antenna part number will not be listed in a Honeywell TCAS STC installation manual, you cannot substitute one for the other.

Guard is a term used to describe a special option on tactical radios. This special option is a dual monitoring system that continually monitors emergency channels (either a preset or selected channel, depending on unit options) for broadcasts, while still receiving on the main receiver. The radio will annunciate a notice when there is a broadcast on the emergency channel. Annunciation type depends on the particular unit and set up options.

This feature is particularly useful for search and rescue mission aircraft.
